Mission Statement

Vera's Wings is a support network for men and women who have suffered baby loss prior to twenty weeks gestation.  This site aims to encourage others to talk openly about loss, recognise and remember your babies on the Wall of Wings, and eventually have an active discussion forum.

Personal Statement

I am thankful every day for the son I have, but I will never recover from the losses that followed.  Two pregnancies, twenty six weeks, three operations, countless tears and an eternal void that cannot be filled.  A mother's love cannot be dimmed with time, where I once sought to conceal my grief, now I embrace it.

The road of miscarriage and baby loss is a lonely one and the journey has taught me many things, nothing more important than talking.  Miscarriage is not a thing of shame, the loss of a baby before twenty weeks is no less important than any other loss, and there is no freedom in silence.

Hopes
I hope that Vera's Wings becomes a recognised support network for men and women alike, and a place that our babies can be remembered.  Eventually, I would like to become a Registered Charity.
